Dear Gender-based violence,

At Youth First, we have always taken our fight against you to heart. And today, we can say that, thanks to the exchange visit to Sri Lanka from the 3rd to the 11th of September, as part of the penultimate stage of the Break The Cycle project, we are better prepared to understand you in the Malagasy context.
First of all a way to strengthen the links between organisations that share the same vision, these 5 days in Sri Lanka have above all allowed us to deconstruct you in order to understand you better. To do this, we addressed 5 themes:

(1) the discovery of oneself and others;
(2) understanding gender and social constructions around gender:
(3) male identity and hegemonic masculinity;
(4) men, violence and sexuality.
and (5) commit to changing the male conception of gender-based violence.

We also drew inspiration from the good practices and playful activities shared during the sessions to develop the Tanora Sahy toolkit, while waiting for the toolkit common to the six (06) organizations that will be validated during the last stage of the project, in Spain, next December.
Every day we grow and become familiar with effective methods and tools to better fight against you. After these more than constructive exchanges in Sri Lanka, we can say that your days are now numbered, dear GBV.
