Breaking the Cycle is an international initiative led by six organizations from India, Spain, Bangladesh, Madagascar, Greece and Nepal to fight gender-based violence among young people. It also aims to provide educators in formal and non-formal education areas with information and tools to work with young people in the prevention of gender-based violence. Lastly, the project aims to foster cooperation and exchanges between young people from partner organizations around the world.
Project funded by the European Union from the ERASMUS program and coordinated by CERUJOVI (Association of Rural Youth in Spain).
Youth First contributed to the project by providing expertise in youth empowerment and leadership. Our NGO has thus contributed to develop best practice manuals and modules on '' Leadership, Gender and Courses of action '' in the training curriculum. Youth First also hosted the second international training workshop in 2018.
In 2019, the Breaking the Cycle project will focus on promoting positive masculinity to fight gender-based violence. Several activities will be developed including the implementation of an online course platform. The partner countries for this year are: India, Netherlands, Spain, Madagascar, Sri Lanka & Samoa Islands
